WASSET Shipping & Packaging Policy
Last Updated: 12 September 2026
This Shipping & Packaging Policy ("Policy") explains the shipping, packaging, dispatch, delivery and related responsibilities applicable to transactions conducted through the WASSET platform ("WASSET", "we", "us" or "our").
This Policy forms part of the WASSET Terms of Usage.
By selling or purchasing an item through WASSET, you agree to comply with this Policy.
1. How WASSET Shipping Works
WASSET may facilitate shipping through integrated third party logistics partners or other shipping providers.
Depending on the transaction, WASSET may provide:
- A prepaid shipping label;
- Pickup from the Seller's address;
- Drop-off shipping;
- Tracking;
- Delivery updates;
- Shipping cost calculation;
- Shipping support; and
- Other logistics services.
The shipping method available for an order may depend on the item category, package dimensions, weight, pickup location, delivery location and availability of logistics partners.
WASSET may change or disable shipping options where required due to operational, regulatory, geographic or carrier limitations.
2. Seller Shipping Responsibility
The Seller is responsible for preparing and handing over the correct item in accordance with this Policy.
Unless otherwise specified by WASSET, Sellers must:
- Pack the item securely;
- Use appropriate packaging;
- Ensure the item matches the listing;
- Use the shipping label provided for that order, where applicable;
- Dispatch the order within the specified timeline;
- Ensure the package is securely sealed;
- Ensure the shipping label is clearly visible;
- Provide accurate weight and package information where requested;
- Hand over the package to the designated logistics partner; and
- Retain appropriate proof of packing and dispatch.
The Seller remains responsible for the contents of the parcel until it has been successfully handed over to the applicable logistics providers.
3. Dispatch Timeline
Unless a different timeline is communicated at checkout or in the Seller's order instructions, Sellers should dispatch sold items within 3 calendar days of receiving the order.
WASSET may provide a specific dispatch deadline for individual orders.
If a Seller fails to dispatch within the applicable timeline, WASSET may:
- Send a reminder;
- Extend the dispatch period in exceptional circumstances;
- Cancel the order;
- Refund the Buyer;
- Affect the Seller's account or seller rating; and/or
- Restrict the Seller's ability to sell.
Repeated failure to dispatch orders may result in suspension or termination of the Seller's account.
4. Shipping Labels
Where WASSET provides a prepaid or platform-generated shipping label:
- The Seller must use the label for the corresponding order;
- The label must not be transferred, sold or reused;
- A label generated for one order must not be used for another order;
- The Seller must ensure that the barcode and tracking information remain visible;
- Old shipping labels and barcodes must be removed or completely covered; and
- The Seller must comply with the applicable logistics provider's requirements.
Using the wrong label or shipping method may result in:
- Shipment delays;
- Loss of tracking;
- Additional shipping charges;
- Cancellation of the order;
- Loss of shipping-related protection; and/or
- Seller liability for resulting costs.
5. Packaging Requirements
Sellers must package every item in a manner reasonably designed to protect it against:
- Dirt;
- Moisture;
- Compression;
- Tearing;
- Scratching;
- Breakage;
- Leakage;
- Damage during handling; and
- Normal transportation conditions.
Packaging must be clean, secure and appropriate for the item being shipped.
6. Packaging for Clothing and Apparel
For clothing and other non-fragile apparel:
Recommended packaging
Sellers should use:
- A clean, strong courier bag;
- A waterproof inner bag where appropriate; and/or
- A suitable cardboard box for premium, structured or delicate items.
Where a courier bag is used, the item should preferably be protected by an inner waterproof or protective layer.
Clothing should be:
- Clean and dry;
- Folded appropriately;
- Protected against moisture;
- Placed securely inside the package; and
- Packed so that it does not move excessively during transportation.
Do not ship clothing loosely in an unsealed or damaged bag.
7. Packaging for Footwear
Shoes, sneakers, boots and other footwear should preferably be shipped in:
- The original shoe box, where available; or
- A suitably sized sturdy cardboard box.
Where the original shoe box is used, it should be placed inside appropriate outer packaging.
Sellers should avoid attaching shipping labels directly to branded or original retail packaging where doing so may damage it.
8. Packaging for Handbags, Accessories and Premium Items
For handbags, watches, jewellery, sunglasses, wallets and other premium or delicate fashion accessories:
- Use sturdy outer packaging;
- Protect the item individually;
- Use bubble wrap, paper, foam or other suitable protective material where appropriate;
- Prevent the item from moving freely inside the package;
- Protect surfaces against scratches;
- Use additional protection for hardware, chains, buckles and other delicate components; and
- Use a strong outer box where the item could be damaged by compression.
For high-value items, WASSET may require additional packaging, verification or shipping procedures.
9. Fragile Items
Fragile items must be packed using suitable cushioning and a sturdy outer box.
The item must not be able to move freely inside the package.
Sellers should use appropriate materials such as:
- Bubble wrap;
- Foam;
- Air pillows;
- Kraft paper;
- Cardboard inserts; or
- Other suitable protective materials.
Where appropriate, the outer package should be marked as FRAGILE.
10. Moisture Protection
Fashion items are particularly vulnerable to moisture damage.
Sellers should use waterproof or moisture-resistant inner protection for:
- Clothing;
- Shoes;
- Bags;
- Leather products;
- Premium fashion;
- Delicate fabrics; and
- Items likely to be damaged by moisture.
The outer package should be properly sealed before handover.
11. Reused and Eco-Friendly Packaging
WASSET encourages Sellers to reuse suitable packaging wherever reasonably possible.
Reused packaging is permitted provided that it is:
- Clean;
- Dry;
- Structurally sound;
- Free from hazardous material;
- Suitable for the item being shipped; and
- Properly sealed.
All previous shipping labels, barcodes, addresses and tracking information must be removed or completely covered.
WASSET encourages the use of:
- Recycled cardboard;
- Recycled paper;
- Reusable packaging;
- Recycled courier bags; and
- Other reasonably sustainable packaging materials.
However, sustainability must not compromise the safety of the shipment.
WASSET similarly encourages reuse of suitable packaging and recommends appropriately sized and recyclable materials.
12. Packaging Materials Not Recommended
Sellers should not use:
- Torn or damaged courier bags;
- Open or unsealed bags;
- Extremely thin plastic bags;
- Wet or damp packaging;
- Packaging containing sharp exposed edges;
- Packaging with exposed nails, staples or wires;
- Packaging contaminated with food, chemicals or other substances; or
- Packaging that cannot reasonably withstand normal transportation.
13. Package Size and Weight
Sellers must provide accurate package information wherever requested by WASSET.
This may include:
- Package weight;
- Length;
- Width;
- Height;
- Item category; and
- Number of items.
Incorrectly declared weight or dimensions may result in additional shipping charges.
If a Seller materially under-declares the weight or size of a shipment, WASSET may recover the resulting additional logistics cost from the Seller's payout, subject to applicable law and the applicable Fee Policy.
14. Multiple Items in One Order
Where multiple items are purchased together and WASSET permits combined shipping, Sellers should:
- Pack all items securely;
- Protect each item individually where necessary;
- Ensure that the combined package remains within the applicable weight and dimension limits; and
- Use the shipping label generated for the combined order.
Sellers must not combine unrelated orders into one package unless expressly permitted by WASSET.
15. Packing Evidence
WASSET strongly recommends that Sellers record evidence of the packaging process, particularly for higher-value items.
A Seller may photograph or record:
- The item before packing;
- The condition of the item;
- Any visible defects;
- The item being placed into the package;
- The sealed package;
- The shipping label; and
- The package at the time of handover.
For certain high-value categories, WASSET may require packing photographs or video as a condition of seller protection.
Packing evidence may be requested by WASSET when investigating:
- Damage;
- Missing items;
- Wrong items;
- Packaging-related disputes;
- Counterfeit claims;
- Tampering;
- Delivery disputes; or
- Other Transaction issues.
16. Shipping Handover
The Seller must hand over the package to:
- The WASSET-authorized logistics partner;
- The carrier specified on the shipping label; or
- Another shipping method expressly permitted by WASSET.
Where a WASSET-generated shipping label is provided, the Seller should not independently arrange another carrier unless WASSET expressly permits it.
The Seller should retain proof of handover until the Transaction has been completed and the applicable dispute period has expired.
17. Tracking
Where tracking is available, WASSET will make tracking information available through the platform or relevant logistics provider.
Sellers must not provide false, invalid or unrelated tracking information.
For manually arranged shipping, where permitted by WASSET, the Seller must provide valid tracking information within the timeframe specified by WASSET.
Tracked shipping is strongly preferred because it provides evidence of dispatch and delivery. WASSET similarly requires proof of tracked shipping in certain circumstances to support seller protection.
18. Delivery Attempts
Buyers are responsible for providing accurate delivery information and being reasonably available to receive their orders.
If a Buyer is unavailable after multiple delivery attempts, the package may be:
- Returned to the Seller;
- Held at a carrier facility;
- Redirected where available; or
- Handled according to the logistics provider's applicable process.
Additional shipping or return charges arising from incorrect delivery information or repeated failed delivery attempts may be charged to the responsible party, subject to applicable law and WASSET's policies.
19. Lost, Damaged or Tampered Shipments
If a shipment is lost, damaged or appears to have been tampered with during transit, the affected party should report the issue to WASSET as soon as possible.
WASSET may request:
- Photographs;
- Unboxing video;
- Packaging photographs;
- Packing video;
- Shipping label;
- Tracking information;
- Delivery records;
- Damage photographs;
- Item photographs; and/or
- Other evidence reasonably necessary to investigate the claim.
The availability and amount of compensation may depend on:
- The applicable logistics provider;
- Declared or insured value, where applicable;
- The nature of the shipment;
- Compliance with packaging requirements;
- The evidence available;
- The applicable Transaction policy; and
- Applicable law.
20. Unboxing Evidence for Buyers
For higher-value or potentially fragile purchases, Buyers are strongly encouraged to record a continuous unboxing video.
The video should:
- Begin before opening the package;
- Clearly show the shipping label;
- Show all sides of the package;
- Show any visible damage or tampering;
- Capture the opening process continuously; and
- Show the item and its condition immediately after opening.
An unboxing video may assist WASSET in determining whether damage, tampering, missing items or incorrect items occurred before or during delivery.
Failure to provide an unboxing video does not automatically invalidate a legitimate claim, but it may affect WASSET's ability to investigate or determine responsibility.
21. Wrong, Missing or Damaged Items
If a Buyer receives:
- The wrong item;
- A missing item;
- A materially damaged item;
- An item damaged during transit; or
- An item that appears materially different from the listing,
the Buyer should report the issue through WASSET within the timeframe specified in the applicable Returns, Refunds & Buyer Protection Policy.
WASSET may investigate the claim and determine an appropriate resolution, which may include:
- Return;
- Replacement;
- Refund;
- Partial refund;
- Seller reimbursement;
- Shipping reimbursement; or
- Other appropriate resolution.
Where damage is determined to have resulted from inadequate Seller packaging, the Seller may be responsible for the resulting costs, subject to applicable law.
22. Seller Liability for Poor Packaging
A Seller may be responsible for losses caused by:
- Inadequate packaging;
- Incorrect packaging;
- Failure to protect the item from moisture;
- Failure to securely seal the package;
- Incorrect item being shipped;
- Insufficient cushioning;
- Use of damaged packaging;
- Incorrect package weight or dimensions; or
- Failure to comply with carrier packaging requirements.
WASSET may deduct applicable amounts from pending Seller payouts where permitted by law and the applicable Fee Policy.
23. Carrier Delays
WASSET is not responsible for delays caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control, including:
- Weather;
- Natural disasters;
- Strikes;
- Transport disruptions;
- Government restrictions;
- Address-related issues;
- Carrier operational issues;
- Public holidays;
- Remote-area limitations; or
- Other force majeure events.
Where possible, WASSET will assist users in obtaining shipment status from the applicable logistics provider.
24. Shipping Charges
Shipping charges may be:
- Paid by the Buyer;
- Paid by the Seller;
- Included in the item price;
- Subsidized by WASSET;
- Calculated based on package weight/dimensions; or
- Determined by the applicable logistics partner.
